Valerie attends Black Country Showcase Event

I attended the Black Country Showcase Event in Parliament on 1 November 2017 hosted by Ian Austin MP for Dudley North.

Fantastic local business from across the Black Country set up stalls in Parliament to showcase their high quality products and demonstrate the key role the Black Country plays in so many sectors from high-tech manufacturing to traditional industries.

Two businesses from Walsall South, Alucast and Kirkpatrick, were at the event:

Alucast are able to supply machined, painted and assembled aluminium components from its site in Wednesbury – allowing UK customers to have a single source for all their casting needs.

AluCast

Kirkpatrick was founded in the heart of Walsall in 1855 and remains on the same site today. It is also the only remaining manufacturer of traditional black ironmongery in the UK.

I also spoke to Maqq and Ikram, a constituent, from Air Guard who manufacture air filters for a range of sectors, which help their clients conserve energy and increase efficiency.

Brooks, since 1866, have been delivering saddles and cycling accessories which through their quality have become world renowned. Tim and Brian from Assa Abloy informed me that they were the global leader of door opening solutions and intelligent locks. These two companies have put the Black Country on a global stage and should be celebrated.
