At the end of the school year Valerie attended the Chuckery Primary School 80th Birthday Carnival and the Joseph Leckie Community Technology College Fun Day.
The Fun Day at Joseph Leckie was the first for the School and was particularly successful. Events such as face painting, a drum workshop, a cake stand, a library bus and a raffle helped raise over £200 for the Joseph Leckie Community Association.
The Chuckery Primary School 80th Birthday Carnival was also a success. There was a puppet show and many stalls including a coconut shy. A time capsule will be buried for future pupils to open in years to come. Valerie tried the game – hook a duck -and gave her prize of bubbles to a pupil who had been valiantly trying to win it.

“I had a fantastic time attending both of the events. The hard work put in by teachers, parents and pupils was evident, and helped create a wonderful atmosphere. I am especially pleased that the Joseph Leckie Fun Day raised over £200, this is a fantastic achievement. I was also very pleased to see some of the first pupils at the school who came to help celebrate Chuckery’s 80th birthday. Chuckery School has done a fantastic job educating Walsall children for many years and they deserve this celebration.”
