The Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act 1928 granted equal voting rights to men and women over the age of 21.
On 22 June 2018 I was delighted to mark 90 years since the Act was passed by throwing an ‘EqualiTeas’ tea party with women on the Bridges Project at St John’s Church.
The Bridges Project helps people throughout the Black Country to achieve their employment goals. I was proud to be able to hand out certificates to women who had achieved their level one in childcare qualifications.
