On Saturday 21st January 2012, Valerie held a meet and greet drop-in surgery for constituents in the foyer of Darlaston Asda.
Over two hours, Valerie discussed a wide range issues with constituents several of whom had not previously raised issues with an MP during a surgery.
Valerie said: “This was a new way for me to meet with constituents and it was very successful. People were able to meet me before doing their weekly shop. They told me that they were pleased to be able to speak with their local Member of Parliamentout. The surgery was very well attended”
“It is important that Members of Parliament can be contacted by their constituents in a number of ways. Drop-in surgeries are an important addition to the surgeries I regularly hold by appointment.”
