” The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association ( CPA) organised this meeting which gave British Parliamentarians an opportunity to meet with the Kenyan Women’s delegation. Our discussion ranged from how to ensure that the numbers of women MPs should increase. Whilst the Kenyan parliament as 23% women, the British Parliament has 22% women. The Labour Party have a mechanism of increasing the number of women by having all women shortlists at selections as there was slow progress in getting more women into Parliament. Parliamentary colleagues who attended the event were Meg Munn MP, Lord David Steel, Baroness Vivenne Stern and Roberta Blackman-Woods MP and James Dudridge MP .”
