VALERIE VAZ MP AND JASON ISAACS ‘MAKE EVERY DAFFODIL COUNT’ FOR MARIE CURIE THIS MARCH

On Tuesday 28 February 2017, Valerie Vaz MP joined Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs in Parliament to celebrate the launch of the Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign.

Valerie Vaz MP said:

“One in four people miss out on the care and support they need at the end of life. That is why I support the annual Marie Curie fundraising appeal to help enable the charity to reach more people affected by terminal illness.”

“Every March, millions of people across the UK support this fundraising event by giving a small donation to wear a daffodil pin. Marie Curie employs more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, and with its nine hospices around the UK, is the largest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS.”

“The Marie Curie Hospice in the West Midlands offers several different services, such as in-patient care and day services consisting of a variety of complementary therapies.”

“I encourage my constituents to help the charity raise more money by simply giving a donation and wearing a Marie Curie daffodil pin, available from volunteers across the country, or Superdrug, Spar and Poundworld stores, and Wyevale Garden Centres.”

“Morrisons supermarket in Walsall will also be holding Great Daffodil Appeal fundraising collections on 10, 11 and 12 March 2017.”
