I visited Acorns Children’s Hospice on Wednesday 18 September 2019 for the launch of Andy Brown’s fantastic CD; the proceeds go to various charities that are close to his heart, including Acorns. I am pictured above with Andy and Tom.
You can support Acorns by buying the CD for £6 from [email protected].
Earlier this year, I and other Black Country MPs met with Mark Lyttle whose daughter, Isabella, passed away at the hospice. I signed a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Health and the head of NHS England and wrote to Walsall CCG to seek assurances about long-term funding for the Hospice.
The Hospice will stay open to Black Country children and families until at least the end of March 2020. But there is an urgent appeal to raise £2 million to keep the Hospice from closure altogether.
The Government needs to ensure that children’s hospices receive the funding they need to remain open. Children at the end of their lives need the care that charities like Acorns provide.
